Unfortunately there's not really a lot of specific info on many of the imports...even the MIJ's that have a really good reputation for having a high degree of quality. What's worse is that the Korean made models were often really hit or miss...there's been some really fine instruments that have come out of Korea and there have been some really cheap pieces of crap. The '92 MIK I had was in the latter catagory...the neck was decent enough but the body was simply really cheap plywood...not even basswood or poplar or anything and the hardware was just awful....really cheap, poor quality all the way around.

The "best" way to really get any info on that guitar is to simply take it apart and look at everything. Take a look for any stamps on the neck heal and the neck pocket of the body to give you some clues. -If- yours has a solid body, chances are it's probably basswood...many of the older imports were. They also did use a few reissue necks here and there as well and those are usually pretty nice. Chances are however that the bridge and pickups and such are probably sub par...not always but many of the early Korean imports did use really cheap hardware.

As far as "model" goes...it's a Strat. That's probably about all you're going to find on it.

If the guitar was given to you, my advice would be simply to just enjoy the guitar for what it is...regardless of how good the quality is, you really can't beat the price 8).

Peace,
Jim
