For some reason certain people have the tendency to be "label whores". They bad-mouth anything that isn't in their idea of a "quality price range". Just because something is expensive doesn't mean it's any better. I played a $3,500 Gibson Explorer recently. You know what? It buzzed like a mofo. A guitar that costs over $3000, and it buzzed. I paid $180 for my Affinity Strat, and my friend admits it sounds better than his G-400. I have played in jazz bands for 3 years, used the Squier live, it sounds great. Just because some people insist that price=quality doesn't mean they're right.

Well said!!!!!!!-N 8)

Put a Squier guitar in Eric Clapton's hands, and everyone will want to buy one. I purchased a used Squier for $80 and it turned me on to Fender. Why? because it played like a dream, and sounded better than I thought it would. If you ever get the chance, read the poem called "The Master's Hand". You'll know why I suggested it after you read it
I agree with what you said about Eric Clapton. lol I paid $80.00 for mine too and it's great. I wanted a change from my Les Paul.
