My girlfriend just bought me an Affinity Series Strat in a starter kit for xmas at Guitar Center. They tuned it and all for me, but when I got home there was no owner's manual. I have a whammy bar but also a spring and two allen wrenches that I have no clue what they are for. When I screw in the whammy bar it has no spring to it. Can somebody help me or lead me to a site where I can download a owner's manual?

Scroll this page up and you'll see a row of tabs. The "Support" tab will lead you to a lot of information. Enjoy your playing! :)

The small allen wrench is to adjust the saddles, the big one is for the truss rod, the spring should be an extra for the tremolo under the plate on the back. There should be 3 installed. Put these in a safe place. Take the whammy bar out and put it with the rest of the parts. After you learned to play a little better then you can try it. It's to easy to break strings until you get a better understanding of your guitar plus it will stay in tune longer if you don't use it. Have Fun and enjoy. You might look into a few lessons to get started. :)

Welcome to the Forum. Idahored hit the nail on the head. I really would not worry about that whammy bar for a while. Enjoy the guitar. Unfortunately Squier guitars are pretty hit or miss when it comes to the owner's manual. Try this:

http://www.fender.com/support/stratocas ... _guide.php

It is an over-all guide and not every thing will pertain to your particular guitar. I hope you enjoy your new guitar.
