Different, but both great; I wouldn't diss the Vintage Modified series tho.

I like the Standard Series, though I haven't tried the CV or John 5 ones...

The one I enjoy is my '83 Japanese Squire. That is the SQ26XXX Serials. 70's style headstock with the Maple neck and fretboard. Excellent playability as well as tone and Sound quality. I've played a few of the newer series and to me they sound like Ukes.

There are so many varibles but if you like a rosewood neck it's the standard, J5, or VM thinline If you like maple it's a Custom II, VM SH, or classic vibe. I think the butterscotch affinity is the best looking but is needs to have a string thru body mod, a little neck work, and upgraded pickups. The SSH VM loses to much tele sound with the strat stacked humbuckers. A lot like the custom but I pick the p-90's in the II 8)

Just my 10 cents worth

My wife and son gave me the Tele II last night for my Christmas present. I had to tune it and adjust 3 strings for intonation. Height and neck were perfect. Other than that it a really nice guitar and looking forward to playing it alot! :D

I have a butterscotch blonde Affinity series that I just can't seem to put down, it came set up very well, but I thought the pup switch wasn't very good quality, which has since been replaced.
