The Jagmaster was my first Squier, a good guitar for the price. I have since added an MIK Strat and an Affinity Tele.

I'm looking for one from the late '90s - a Vista series. When I find the right one for the price I'm grabbing it! I think they are great little guitars!

Here's my Vista Series Jagmaster. Such an awesome guitar. The newer ones aren't too bad and easy to upgrade.

I hadn't heard of these guitars until I had seen one posted on craigslist. The dude was sellin it for 230 and I thought "what a jip for a Squier". I decided to look it up online and see if there were any in local music stores to try out. I ended up playing one of the newer chinese ones at GC and it wasn't too bad. The neck was sturdy, it looked cool and it didn't sound like complete junk. So I did some more research and realized that the ones being put out right now aren't as good as the so called "Vista" series that were made in Japan. I asked that one dude on CL where the guitar had been built and he said Japan. I then haggled him down to 180. He agreed. We met, I checked out the guitar, and lo and behold, a sweet candy apple red Vista series for 180. A total steal on my part..I really don't think the guy knew what he had. I was a little bummed that it wasn't sunburst or sonic blue, but hey, beggars can't be choosers with guitars that are this hard to find haha. Anyways, here's a photo for anyone that appreciates these neat little guitars. God bless Japan.

Tried one in GC and it was awesome. Versatile, great for grunge/alterna or you can swing some 60s surf music.

Check this video out of a guy on youtube, the guy had a custom pickguard put in and slapped some gibson pickups in that really make it an incredly sweet custom.
