ok long story short i just recently purchased a brand new affinity fat strat i was not happy with the pickguard so i had the store replace it under warranty the new one which i like the look of it much better when i removed the shrink wrap (plastic) from it there is a bad residue on it that makes it stick and it is dull looking what is safe to use on it to clean the residue off of it also i was pretty certain it had 11 screws holding it on and now it only has 8 should i be concerened with this... i did see the pickguard in the package and it did say fender on it....thank you everyone

they probably replaced the squier one with a fender one, the fender one has only 8 screws, I wouldnt sweat it. as for cleaning it, if you can just use a wet paper towel I would try that, if you need something more someone here will surely know what to use that wont mess up the guard.
