The Alnico 5 pickups in the CV 60 are brighter than the CV 50. It also has a rosewood finger board. I recently switched out the pickguard and accessaries on mine and now it looks just like my avatar.

IMHO both guitars are great. My recommendation is to try to play both and see which one is right for you.

Actually its the other way around, the 50s is brighter than the 60s.
I owned both and I prefer the 50s. Here is my demo

Thanks for the correction...it has been a while since I played the 50's. Cool vid. You should take them through all the pickups for your next Demo...just a suggestion and I would love to see another demo.

I was just about to put another topic about the differences between the classic vibe '60s and vintage modified, when I saw this post. So, I feel lucky that there are others with similar questions.
I love the sound of the sixties stratocaster, and rosewood fretboard, so I had my eyes on the classic vibe '60s, when I saw vintage modified series. I read everything about the two models, but I still can't make up my mind. The thing is, there are only red and sunburst classic vibe stratocasters, and I want olympic white, which vintage modified offers. I don't like the pickguard that comes with it, I want white pickguard as well, but that's not such a problem.
So, if you know anything at all that maybe I don't about these two models, please feel free to share!!!
Can't wait to here something new!!!

I got the Vintage Modified Telecaster in white and I have really developed a love for this axe but I'm still thinking about a future change in pickups. It has all the twang in the bridge position and the stacked strat pickup in the middle is is alright but it just needs something more when combined with the mini humbucker or the bridge.

Agreed - the neck pickup is the only weak point on this otherwise incredible instrument..

Yea! since then I purchase a 50 a 60 and a Modified
3 different sound, the 50 very clear, the 60 so so, the Modified sound
pretty good, sort of velvety blues sound.
But don't change the pickups on the Modified, it is so nice.

I can get several combinations out of the SSH setup , I just wonder about an improvement with another pickup, maybe a Texas pickup or a Fender Vintage Tele???
