I bought a squier mini and since i wanted to change for a humbucker pickup , so i order a new custom pickguard from pickguardheaven ( reputable site . ) unforttunalty they didnt have the pattern so i had to send the original squier mini pickguard by mail for them to trace it and made the new one .

unfortunatly the package never reach the company .... was suppose to take 3-4 days and its been 3 weeks and they mail me today telling me they were still waiting to send it ( i sent it 3 week ago ) . so it probably got lost in the mail ( thx to USPS and canada post ) .

the company told me they could work with a fine line trace ( the opriginal would have been better ) .. unfortunatly .. i dont have a mini pickgaurd . so im totally **** cause my project guitar cant be finish since i can get a pickguard for the mini . :(

any solution or help ??? is there anything i can do

thank you .

** my guitar was 85 % complete .. i bought the new electornic pots and humbucker , did the paint job .. change the tuning keys ... i was jsut waiting for my new pickguard to solder the elctronic and get a tune up /set up . now it kill my plan :(

so sorry to hear that, but in the end it's just a pickguard, it's not very expensive is it?

the other day I sent a package to Miami with 11 CDs and the receiver got only the 2 of them!

WTF is happening in the mailing world???

its not really about being expensive .. its jsute that i cant find any other one .. since its not standart ... nobody has the pattern . theres no replacement for it . if they were i wouldnt have mind .
.

and since its smaller than a regular strat pickguard ... custom pickguard shop has to build a new template .. so the average quote i had was from different site 110 to 130 $ for the pickguard .

the site where i was ordering made it for around 40 $ which was ok for me .

so its not about the price .. its jsut that theres no replacement for it so ims tuck with no pickguard . the mini is universal routing so the pickguard doesnt stay in place in his hole ... its gonna be loose if its not fix to a pickguard .

Sorry for your delima. Have you thought about this:

http://shop.ebay.com/i.html?_nkw=squier ... &_osacat=0

Buy a cheap Mini and use it for parts. I would send the other company a tracing of the pickguard as to not have it lost in the mail again. Some of these guitars are dirt cheap. Just food for thought.

... or perhaps a friendly local music store with a Mini in stock would be kind enough to make a tracing ....

Update : they found the pickguard .. built me a new one .

the guitar is 90 % complete .

- new paint job = done

- new fender tuning keys = done

- new bridge = done

- new jackplate , backplate etc.. = done

- new pickguard and new humbucker Seymour Duncan invader ( and new 500k pot ) = done .

the only thing missing is the new bone nut that my luthier will built and the a good tune up and ajustment and its ready .

its gonna have .49 strings gauge in order to get the right tension . .42 are way too light for a small scale guitar .

here a pic so far: ( its pretty basic but thats how i wanted it )

skysc Wow....I really like that . ....especially the paint. I'm glad they found it. Love the white on white. VERY sharp and clean.
I am a big fan of the SD Invaders. I have one in a Dearmond 7string.
Great setup, please keep us posted.

thx . im not sure about the hardware yet if ill keep it gold but maybe .

i havent finish wiring the duncan invader ... i cant wait to hear how it will sound .

im into metal ( maiden , thrash metal /pop punk ( green day , blink etc.. )

very high gain and palm muting stuff .

i hope this thing will have power . a squier mini on steroid :) .

but overall .... the mini ( stock)is really a cheap guitar . all the hardware is cheap , the nut is horrible , the keys arent great . but thats a 99 $ guitar so i wont complaint . but to make it a decent guitar . youll have to invest at least a 200 $ ( new nut , new tuning keys , new hardware (pickup+pots ) . if i count everything i have put on it ... this guitar will be like 500 $ $ at the end .

i really wish fender would make a 3/4 size stratocaster made in mexico for around 400 $ . they make like 30 model of stratocaster full size and no 3/4 size . im sure they would be popular . with the popularity of EMO style ( skinny guys ) 3/4 size would be perfect for playing standing up .

they have to stop marketing them as "children guitar " . 3/4 size is perfect for smaller than average hands , shredding , playing standing up the guitar is lightweight and allow more movement on stage . its perfect to travel .

fender had a run in 93 of stratocaster junior .. but it didnt last .
