I was wondering what kind of gig bag you would recommend for a Squier? I've read reviews about the one that came with my guitar, and lots of people seemed to have complained about the durability. What would you suggest.

The one I have is similar to this:

Now the Guitar Center site had one good review but at other sites, people complained a lot. I just don't want to damage my guitar if I take it with me.

I've never cared for gig bags. To me it's one step above packing you axe around with a strap It's good for keeping the dust off and that's about it. I would invest $50-60 bucks and get a hard case. I picked up a musician gear vintage tweed case for $50 at music123.com if you watch they have free shipping on orders over 49.99. checkout all the web stores. Sam Ash, American musical supply, musician friend, etc I'm sure you'll find one you can afford. A soft case might work for you really good too, and they're light weight. I treat my cases like there is a baby sleeping in it. Cuz there IS

I got this tweed case from Musician's Friend for about $50. At just $20 more than the gig bag you showed, it's a better solution that looks stylish too!

agreed about paying a little mroe for a case, i used a bag for my Telecaster for a long time and finally realized its almost like carrying something you value dearly around in a backpack. I say go for a case if it is feasible.

i like gig bags, personally, but a lot of that is because i live in NYC, and a gig bag is just so much more convenient than a case here.

but i have to say that those cases in the post above look sweet for the money. absolutely. i may have to buy a couple.

Thanks for the suggestions! I wanted a better gig bag because of the backpack straps since I have a back problem due to an injury. But those cases look sweet. When and if I get into some cash, I'll probably invest in a hard case.

Thanks again

That's the same case I have and I'm very happy with it. I got it for 49.99 and free shipping. Actually my wife paid for it as a christmans gift last year. Lucky Me. :D

Lucky you.

Man, I can't even get a guy to even talk to me let alone go out with me or go out of his way once in a while just to be nice. LOL I think I have the loser label on my forehead.

It seems like the tweed is more money. Black would work just fine for me.

Does this case hold any accessories?

The flat part in the middle (under the neck) is an accessory compartment. Mine holds a strap, cable, pack of strings, string winder, tuner, cleaning cloth, and a pack of picks--with room to spare. Most cases have some kind of compartment for holding your stuff.

Cool. Thanks.

I'm a bit of a goth at heart so I thought this would be kind of cool with some added detailing.

Holy crud, I was just looking at that. That looked pretty cool too. Did anyone ever try this case? I was thinking of this, the black hard case, or the white coffin case.

I bought my daughter a similar case for here violin and she really loves it and it seems to keep it more secure than the molded plastic case she had.
