Hi all, new to the forum, looking for some info on this Squier (I believe) Strat.

Image

I'm talking about the one on the right. I bought it around my 18th birthday, in 1995. It was second hand even then, I have no idea how old it might have been, but more than a couple of years at least. It had a poorly applied (and wrong period!) Fender decal on the headstock, but the guys in the shop said it was a Squier.
After I took this pic I swapped the neck with the Affinity on the left of the pic and it fitted nicely although the heel on the maple fretboard neck was a lot thicker (as was the neck as a whole actually).

The neck plate has no writing on it, just plain chrome.
The string trees don't have posts holding them up, just screws so when the strings are tightened they rise up to the top of the screw.
The humbucker doesn't look like it's F spaced although I always assumed it was stock.
The bridge has modern looking saddles and the tremolo arm has no white tip and is thicker than the one on the Affinity strat.
It plays and sounds nice.

Anyone tell me how old this might be or any other info about it? It's not mine any more, since I sold it to a friend, but he never plays it and I can get it back off him for a silly low price if I really want to.
I posted asking on a Strat forum but had no joy, and the guys on the Seymour Duncan forum don't know either other than to suggest it's Korean.

Oh BTW, there's no markings on the neck pocket and if there was once a serial number somewhere on it, it was gone when I bought it!

Just to reiterate, I noticed the Korean strat thread here saying the necks are thin, but the neck on this guitar is not thin at all, it's really thick about the same as my Jackson SL3 Soloist.

That sounds like a homemade guitar. Something without serial numbers is not factory made. If the pickup spacing is wrong then you will probably have to get another one more suitable Check and see if the pickup has any info on it. There has to be a lead somewhere on the guitar.

It looks nice and worth repairing.
