WTF...

This is hilarious! PLEASE don't stop!

But in all seriousness, I have a Squier Bullet strat, and off the shelf it was OKAY. But yes, the low-end Squiers aren't supposed to be great guitars. They're for the budget-conscious player or student. However when modded, they can be above and beyond the quality of some of their Fender counterparts. The only mod I've done to my Squier is a pickup change, and now it sounds better than a highway one (to me, at least). And don't even get me started on how the neck feels. I haven't done anything to it except play on it and it feels better than Fender necks, and the figuring is beautiful. I think to bad on them just because they're not made close to home is ridiculous. I think that if you play a Squier Deluxe or a CV, you will be pleasantly surprised. I've played both, and they're truly fine instruments.

Please don't call me names, I'm just offering my point of view.

You guys actually have to stop or Fender could get rid of this topic and maybe ban me or you guys for swearing. It's weird.

I see I am gaining zero traction with you, so I will quit while I'm ahead. I hope the rest of the forum is as patient with your snobbish ways as I have tried to be. :?

As I said, people will be nice to you if you are nice to them. It's up to you.

For the record I never called roobatronix any names, use rude language, or attack family members (I know he did not do that either, just a slip when typing fast). I stopped as soon as the YmoBoi asked me to stop and after seeing that roobatronix was getting lewd and baiting me into a thread war.

I do appologize to YmoBoi for voicing my opinion of Squier guitars on his thread. I do not think you have anything to worry about, Brad is pretty fair and will know who the hothead(s) were.

I will not appologize to roobatronix and never will. I also will never say Squier Guitars suck. I do have to agree that some are better than others, but isn't that the same for all guitars? Why come onto the Squier forum and post something like that anyways?

Don't let anyone belittle your Squier. I took grief for my Fender Lead II in the late 80's-early 90's and look at their value now. If you like the guitar and it has been "set-up" properly meaning neck alignment, intonation, action (string height) and pickup height set, it will play and sound fine. If the guitar is what you could afford and you care for it correctly it will last a "lifetime" and may be around for you to pass on down to a son/daughter. If you bought it before the dollar tanked or if it was made before then it was a good value. Don't fall victim to "headstock label" snobbery, most of those that insult or disparage your axe have never held one in their hands never mind played one. I currently own three Squiers, an '08 Squier Tele Custom, '08 Stratocaster Deluxe and a Squier '51 all are built in Indonesia and are of better quality and workmanship than both the made in Mexico Fenders and Squiers. I've had all three professionally "set-up" and it's the best investment I've made. I don't vary string gauges, I treat the guitars with care and respect as it was my hard earned dollars that were used for their purchase. I'm 45 yrs old and have heard all the criticisms years ago that you're hearing now and look at what my then $60 '79 Memphis Les Paul copy is worth today (over $300) as well as the aforementioned often ridiculed Fender Lead II (paid $120 w/case now well over $600). If yours was bought and given to you as a gift be thankful someone took the time and spent their own money on an item they thought you would appreciate, enjoy and play. If that's the case play for them some time to show how well you've progressed. Let your guitar do your talking when criticized and ignore the comments made by illiterate "trend setters" who must have a certain tag/logo on their apparel or equipment. Enjoy YOUR guitar it's YOURS, the detractors are likely spoiled brats whose guitars were probably bought by their mommies because they're too lazy to get a job.
