My guitar is a Squire Stratocaster, I am the 2nd owner of it and I'm not sure if it is a special version of a Strat from Squire or if the previous owner did some modifications to it, it has humbuckers and a large head-stock, if anyone knows if it is made by Squire please tell me. And if anyone can explain to me how to add pictures to one of these posts I can post pictures of my guitar if it helps.

it really helps if you can post some pictures of your strat.
go to photobucket, upload the picture, make it in big resolutions, and post us the url.

I don't remember a double fat production strat. The pearloid pickguard is new. The gold lettering is a good sign ergo not a bullet or affinity. What is the serial number on the back of the headstock and what does it say in the ball area on the front of the headstock?

The previous owner scratched out the serial number so that only a little bit of it was left, but it was made in Indonesia if that helps. At the top of the head it sais "Standard Series" I checked the Squire website and the standard series doesent have my guitar. :?

It might be an older version, a year or more ago. If the serial number wasn't scratched then you could know it's production year. I would guess it's a standard series and maybe even a special but I bet that the pickgaurd was added by someone other than Squier, maybe even the humbuckers.

It is a nice Squier Strat. Unfortunately Squier does not bode well in resale markets. The SN is scratched off, not good either. I guess the real question is do you think it is special? How does it play? How does it sound?

I probably would not get much for my CV 60 if I ever tried to sell it, but I really love the way it plays and sounds...so it is worth a lot to me.

I always love the way a Double Fat Stratocaster looks. If it was a mod, it is a tasteful mod.

It sounds great! I played a Mexican Fender Strat and mine sounded better to me so I'm not sure, I think it might be a special because strats don't have the large headstock and on strats the pickups switch thing can move five times when mine can only move three times. If it somehow helps, my Squire was made in Indonesia.

Sorry it doesn't help! Half of all Squiers are made in Indonesia!

Hi roobatronix, and welcome to the forum. As a friendly word, I would recommend you get out of the habit of slamming other people's equipment. It is rude. Even if you feel that Squier guitars suck, there are those who would say the same about your Mexican-made P-Bass. And I'm sure you would be unhappy to be told so.

So if you are here to celebrate guitars and the people who play them, then you are welcome and will make many friends here. However, if you are here to insult people, then the opposite will be true. Be nice, and people will nice to you. 8)

Ha! Even if there are crappy Squiers now, no one can deny their greatness in the '80s. I'm actually really wanting one. They have so much appeal.
