I just picked up a classic vibe 50's. I was at the store and plugged it into a blues junior and was like "damn!" I usually would never buy a maple neck, and the store only had this one in stock to try. I was shocked I tell ya, how clean it was and the bass, well partly to the blues junior. I may even have to part with my peavey classic 30.

Anyway, I've read about people changing to a gfs steel block, but which one is the correct one? The american or mim version? I had one person say the american version who had one installed and others point to the mim one...

After the install did you notice a change in tone or sustain after doing so? Also, anyone know the output level of the pickups compared to cs 69's, big dippers, etc...

Thanks!

It is Import spaced so you will need the whole GFS Import Trem assembly. DO NOT JUST BUY THE BLOCK! If you do it will fit your plate, but the Trem holes won't line up and you won't be able to use your trem. This wasn't a problem for me so I just installed it anyway. I noticed no major increase in sustain or tone. IMO where most guitars suffer from having a smaller zinc block the CV series doesn't. I compared the CVs to the big dippers in my John Mayer strat.
