The only way to know for sure is to remove the pickguard and take a look. My Squier Standard Strat is routed for H-S-H, so I imagine yours will be too.

If it is, you can drop in a loaded pickguard from Guitar Fetish without too much difficulty. Good luck! 8)

One other option you have is to use stacked humbuckers. they fit in a single coil route. I would suggest looking for a loaded pickguard too. humbuckers usually need 500k pots and single coils use 250k. So by the time you get all the parts you've spent more money I would agree about using GFS stuff it's pretty good for a cheap price

if it is squier affinity, the pickup cavity is very flexible, you can put any pickup configuration that you want as long as you can find the matching pickguard. check your local guitar store, ask for their professional opinion

I highly recommend a stacked humbucker. I put a seymour duncan JB jr in the bridge of one of my squiers. I like to keep the three single coil look of strats.

I am not really sure, I guess it was because it was a Squier guitar. The sales guy there said that I shouldn't up grade a piece of crap guitar...needless to say I walked out of that store and never returned.

I guess in the end, guitar shop people who work in the big stores (GC) will do or say anything to sell guitars, even try to make you feel like your guitar is cheap. I feel like this, it is my guitar and if I want to spend money making it look or play a little better, then just sell me the parts. This is why I stick to the mom and pop stores now. No fuss, no hassel.
