What are "the best" cables to use for my Squier Guitars and my amplification..."In general" is what I'm going for not,"what type of amp ya got".... "what type of this or that".I understand this may "all matter"...But just what are the best cables to use...."What do you use"?
Thank you for you advice and answers.
Crazyhorse.

Try Mogami or Monster cables. Expensive if you are willing to pay for it. Cables are often taken for granted as part of the sound.

Yes,I do understand that cables are an important and often "overlooked" part of our gear.

Anymore advice or type others may use with their gear ? ? ?

Hey crazyhorse1959, and welcome to the forum! I don't really have any particular advice about cables, but I wanted to give you a shout out as the (as far as I know) only other person here with the word "horse" in his user name.

Welcome, and have fun! 8)

I guess the only other advice I can give you is choose which length you prefer.

I have Ernie Ball, Fender, and Excelines cables, all of which are quite nice.

over the years I've found that anything with molded plug ends up in the garbage. I look for good cable but more important are great workmanship in the construction. You can always repair most metal end if the are of any quality. Keep your lengths as short as practical if your using stomp boxes

Molded cables always suck and go bad pretty quickly. Personally I use the ones they sell at Guitar Center, but I only bought them because of the lifetime warranty. If I have problems with one I just take it back and get a replacement. So far though I haven't had any problems with them.

+1 on staying away from molded cable ends. Those seem to go bad quickly. Get the ones with metal end if you can. I recommend Spectraflex cables. I use em and they have a lifetime warranty. They are mderately priced too. Something like 20-40 bucks

I like either ProCo or Conquest Cables...I like Conquest though because they are made with Switchcraft plugs and Belden cable, which is the plug and cable brand that is oftentimes recommended when people inquire about what to get to make their own cables...

Personally I feel that Monster Cables are a way overpriced, and a bit overrated...plus there is an article that came out a year or so ago where some very picky audiophiles supposedly could not tell the difference between speakers that were connected using Monster Cables and the speakers that were connected using wire coat hangers...That being said, don't go for the cheapest no-name brand either...there are a lot of decent cables in the middle price ranges that should do the job well enough...
