Hi all, I am looking to buy a classic vibe Tele. I have a squire standard and am really pleased with it . Is there much difference in the sound between the two guitars, are the pick ups totally different? Thanks . :)

Hello Cooltele,

Firstly Welcome to this Forum.

I'm not real familiar with the squire standard tele,
but I was playing a classic at the superstore and it
felt good and looked nice .

Soundwise it had the "Twang" goin on although a bit edgy.
I like em cause they're affordable and a decent product.
If you get one Post some photos.

Cheers.

There is a big difference between the two. The Classic Vibe has Alnico 3 pickups the standard has cheaper ceramic pickups. The CV also has full size alpha pots while the standard has mini pots. The CV has ping tuners, the same that are on the Fender Classic series, the Standard has the Squier branded tuners. The CV has a pine body, which the first tele prototypes were made from, the Standard Im not sure what type of wood it uses. The CV has a gloss tinted maple neck, the Standard is satin finished and pale. Really different guitars. The CV is a much better guitar IMO
