I uncovered the Epiphone pups from my Les Paul Custom and put them on an HH pick guard and dropped it onto my 2008 Squier Deluxe. Sounds real smooth.

The Squier went from this:

Thanks rkreisher. The pups sound brighter in the Strat than the LP, I had figured they would. I achieved a tone that I didn't have yet in my arsenal.

Did you change the pots and the selector switch too?

Yes, 500K pots and a Fender 3 way switch.

I don't really get the Idea of "fat strats" but I would only make one if I'll put a single coil in the middle of the humbuckers.just my two cents

well anyways, flawless job man! i like it 8)

Thanks for the compliment Astral. Well, with the original pups in it, it was sounding similar to my Fender Custom Classic Strat that cost 8X as much as the Squier. I didn't need 2 Strat sounding guitars so I modified the cheaper one. They are both a real joy to play.

Awesome. I love the idea of double-fat. Did you have to route the body to get the neck pickup in?

The body was routed for HSH so I had no probs just dropping them in.

ekuio, the Epiphone humbuckers I have in my Squier sound more mellow and fatter in a "clean mode" through my Fender Twin than the single coils that it came with. The humbuckers create a stronger distortion without single coil noise when I play through my high gain Marshall SL-X. You could buy a loaded HSS pick guard and drop it onto your Squier. Or you could buy all the necessary parts and build it yourself.
