The only people that can answer specifics on serial numbers is Fender. Check wikipedia Squier guitars for an explanation of what the serial numbers mean. But it won't tell you what type of wood or pickups.

My advice, take the pickups out throw them away and get yourself some alinco Seymore Duncans. Squire pickups are bar magnets and don't compare to single pole alinco or anything out there like Dimarzio or whatever.

It should be pretty easy to replace and well worth your effort and time.

Enjoy your Korean Squier. I have one and they are considered very good quality for the money.
