Hello all,
I have had this guitar for about 17 years now, can anyone give me some info on it? I know it was called a Squire HMIII. Info about rarity, woods used etc would be good. It currently has a Schaller Lo-Pro Edge style trem and 2 Di Marzio PAF Pro pups. Click on the images to see them properly.

Here it is along with my other gear

The first guitar I bought was a Squire HM III. They were great guitars. Orginally mine had a licensed Floyd Rose tremelo and Powersound pickups. The stock pups were super hot. Your are after market pups. Mine was a HSS. The body of mine was high quality ply wood, but ply wood none the less. I wish I still had mine, but the neck was broken in a little accident.

After that, I modified it so much that nothing was orginal but the body. I finally traded it in on a new guitar. I keep trying to go to e-bay t see if I can pick up another one, but still have not found one still all stock.

I guess that they are rare only because you just do not see them all that much any more. I think that they usually go for 100 to 200 dollars max. Not too many people are looking for those as much as they are looking for the Fender HM guitar. Nice paint job on that one.

Yeah the paint job is imaginatively called, red/blue crackle  I installed the Di-Marzios myself and also the Schaller Licensed Floyd Rose I installed myself. The knife edges on the original were badly worn and never held tune so I bought the Schaller from my then teacher Simon Lees ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yaYel9BXKJI ) for £120. It has hardened knife edges and is better than the Ibanez version by far.

i would be interested in selling but it does have a Schaller trem on it which is £180 to buy new and it also has Di Marzio Paf Pro's in the humbucker positions.

I can put the original trem on if you want but they weren't all that hot and the knife edges are very worn as they are from soft material.

The knife edges are the part of the trem that sits on the pivot points. When they wear they get flat sections on them which prevents it from returning to the true home position.

Where are you in the world?
