Hello all. This is my first time to the boards here. I have a question. I family member gave me a 2003 Squier Standard Stratocaster. The problem is the that bridge is missing. I need a 2 point bridge. Guitar Center had a bridge for Squier Guitars but, it used 6 screws to attach it to the body. I found some 2 point bridges online but, they say that it is for the American series. Will one of these work?

Thanks
Chris

Why exactly do you need a 2 point bridge?

I have a 6 screws bridge and it acts very nicely on my 2001 affinity strat. Not to say that you'll have to redrill the body of the guitar to put a 2 point bridge.

Take a look on the 6 screw ones.

My body only has 2 holes with the brass inserts in there. I don't have 6 holes. It came from the factory with a 2 point bridge. I was wanting to know if a 2 point bridge from the American series will fit. Having trouble finding a 2 point replacement.

whoops, sorry. I misunderstood your post. Try ebay, they might have something to suit your needs.

Thanks for the help. I found what I was looking for on there. I will try to set it up myself. Very new at this but , I will give it a shot. Any advice on what gauge and brand of strings to use. I just started playing about 6 weeks ago.

If you are a fan of dive bombing...can you see if GC has a Floyd Rose that will fit it. If they say it won't fit, you may want to try Craigslist or E-bay for a Squire 2 point tremelo. FYI I had a late 80's Squire that had a 2 point tremelo that the FLoyd fit on. Hope this helps a little.
