came into a squier tele, affinity.any one change one of these over to a string thru design/i'd like to put a new bridge on and figured while im at it why not make it more like the real thing.also any issues with gfs products and chinese/indonesian/korean guitars as far as matching things up.probably do a pickup change also.figure it's a good guitar to work on.i've done a lot of set ups and neck adjustments on better guitars but never any surgery so i figure this is a place to start thanks.

I've seen one changed to string through. Guitarfetish sells pretty much everything you'll need... if that is what you're asking.

thanks i was just wondering,in particular,if anyone had any problems with the new bridge lining up with old holes.i could fill holes and start from scratch if need be,but it would be nice if i didn't have to.i'm talking bridge plate screws here.have read about isuues involving after market products and asian guitars ie necks, electronics and bridges.drilling holes for string thru and adding ferules is not an issue but i was concerned about replacing bridge.considering changing to the vintage style saddles but may not.i know if i did i'd have to fill and drill.

Check out a wilkinson compensated 3-saddle they are a convertable. Top load or string thru. Just make sure youet one that matchs your spacing I have 2 different bridges for 2 teles I'm building one is 10.5mm string spacing and the other is 10.8mm I think 10.5 is what you need but double check before you order one they cost around 25 bucks and you can get string ferrules for 7-8 One word of advice use a drill press and the bridge as a guide for your pilot body holes. then remove the bridge and finish up the holes from the back. don't make the ferrule holes to big and take your time to get them straight and evenly spaced. Good Luck :D

Yea, of the few conversions I've seen, they've all had the vintage 3 saddle bridges.

in answering your second question I've had good luck with gfs pickups and pickguards. You may want to check out harmony central for some reviews on some of them

not sure.looking for suggestions.bridge pickup is not bad but neck pikup is awful.figure if i'm going to change one i may as well do both.i have a mim strat ang a gibson flying v oh yea a ibanez hollowbody and they all make that neck picup on the affinity seem pitiful.i realize 2 of em are humbuckers but even the mim is far superior and that isnt the greatest pickup aroun either and probably will be changed.

gfs has a neck pickup thats looks to be pretty good it has p-bass pole pieces using strat bobbins. But My favorite tele pickup pairing is to have a vintage humbucker in the neck with a bright vintage bridge pickup. I'm not a big fan of the hot rail type pickups just wasn't the sound I wanted. I had a strat with 3 SD hot rails in it. I didn't keep it to long. I'm building one tele that will have a SD lil 59 stacked humbucker in the bridge and tex-mex strat mid and neck pu's I may go with a stacked neck pu later. But thats another story. I need to quit dinking around with 2 and get 1 finished. or I enough parts for 3 before I know it. Good Luck :D
