Hey Fender Lovers,

I picked up a Squier Affinity Series Strat a while back that nobody wanted. It had an inch of dust on it, so obviously hadn't been touched in ages, but it's not a bad guitar. I cleaned it up a bit and put it away for a while myself, but recently set it up. It has no obvious problems and plays/sounds good.

My problem with it is that after I adjusted the saddles to lower the action, the saddle height adjustment screws sit up so high out of the saddle itself. It seems that if I keep playing the guitar this way, the screws will dig into the side of my pick hand. I read that the screws can be grinded down, but I want to avoid that if possible. Are there after market saddle adjustment screws I can buy to remedy this? Any other solutions or suggestions?

Thanks for your input. I forgot to mention that this guitar has been autographed by Richie Sambora of Bon Jovi. I don't know if it's an authentic signature, nor do I care. I'm not star struck. The girl who owned it said she got it at an auction in California, but she didn't play guitar. I'll post a pic later today for those interested. Thanks again.

Fender does sell saddle height screws. I am not sure if they fit Squires tho.
AM series bridge height screws part # 099-4927-000 or
Orig Strat bridge height screws # 099-4928-000

Thank you, PS. I'll look into those and maybe they'll fit.

I've got the same guitar.
The guys at 21frets figured mine as Sept. 11, 2000
with serial CY001139xx.
I've been told, w/ the 8 hole single ply pickguard, they were marketed as "vintage vibe"

hope that helps.

Hi Gunmetal. Here's an authentic Richie Sambora autograph for comparison:

Vin, thanks for the info. I love the guitar too. It's got a great neck and nice tone with the stock pickups. I appreciate your input.

RuRaceHorse, thanks for the pic and Sig. comparison. After seeing that picture, it looks like an authentic Richie signature to me. Although I'm not starstruck, it is kinda exciting. Thanks again.

Have you looked into anything like this? I don't know how exactly low you're going, but it may help keep the screws out of your skin.
