I just bought a "purple" Squier Standard Telecaster on ebay and waiting for its arrival. In some of the photos it looks dark purple and in others it looks almost black. Does anyone have photos of this color Tele?

No, but I have a purple Strat.

Does the color look like this?

I don't know if the color matches yours, it isn't here yet. Where did you get that pickguard? I want one like that!

It's a Fender brand pickguard I picked up from a local guitar shop. I did have to drill holes for it since Affinity series Squier Strats come with 8-hole pickguards.

Thanks! :) It was my first guitar, and I still love it.

Hey Texas, I was searching for a purple pickguard for my Highway One and came across your beauty. Did you purchase the Strat like that or (I'm assuming) was it custom painted? If so, where did you have it done? It looks SHARP! I found that same pickguard on another site as well, very nice. :D

It's definately a factory finish and it's from the year 2000 so I'm not sure what it's called or for how long they made them. I got it used in '03, it used to be a rental at Mars Music before they went out of business. I've heard that the finish was a Mars Music exclusive, but I haven't been able to find out for sure.

I've seen several others online (there's another thread about them somewhere), but I've never seen another in person. Someone was selling one on ebay once, it's pickguard had also been changed to the same color which I have on mine but it had black plastic parts. That person called it a "Purple Haze Strat" but I don't think the guitar has anything to do with Jimi Hendrix.

Appreciate the info :) I'm really into purple and was thinking about changing my black HGHWYONE to purple but I think I'm just going to change the pickguard and tuners. I found some purple tuners here: http://www.sperzel.com/Models_Colors.asp. Sperzels are great tuners as well!

I didn't even know they made tuners like that, cool! I bet your guitar is going to turn out looking great, be sure and post pictures of it when I you get it all done! :D
