I have a Squire standard Telecaster ( made in Indonesia).

I love this guitar
The tones I get from it are outstanding both with my processor or without one.

Have other Squire players found the Standard Tele to be one of the best deals around like I have ?

I totally agree. I find it to be an excelent guitar and not just for a beginner. I've been playing for 15 yrs and this guitar has a beautiful sound. When I heard people criticize squiers I realized its because it doesnt say fender in big letters on the headstock. Which leads me to believe they dont know jack about guitars and are just Fanatics of brand names

If I didn't think they were a great deal, I wouldn't own 6 Squier Teles. 3 are the discontinued Fat Teles with the HB neck PU and standard tele bridge PU. 1 has been converted into an Esquire. 1 is the Black & Chrome Standard Tele, and the last is a Squier Vintage Modified Custom Tele (the one with the 2 HBs).

My Squier Standard Tele is by far the best quality I've ever gotten per dollar in a guitar. I'm getting another one!

I own a Telecaster Custom, but I did do some serious mods to it. I changed the bridge saddles to Graph-Techs and then sanded off the Squier logo and put on a Fender Telecaster Waterslide decal after which I applied some clearcoat so it wouldn't come off. I also had to change the nut to a bone one and then I installed a set of Gibson 59 Pickups. True, it cost me a bit to so all of this but to me it was well worth it!

When you sanded off the Squier logo, was this easy or did it leave a mess behind? How much sanding?

I have a partscaster and would love to remove what is on the head and design a logo to put there.

I have removed a logo with 600 grit sandpaper. It was surprisingly quick and easy. It didn't leave much of a mark, and if you spray some kind of clear coat over the headstock no one will ever know.

However, if I could go back in time I would have left the logo on. It was silly to take it off.

I have a shoreline gold standard with maple in my stable. I picked it up a few years back on a trade for some pedals.
