I never even heard of these before and came across one for sale.It looks pretty cool, but I don't know jack about them! Are they collectable? How would I tell what year it is? What should I look for? Did they come with single coils or humbuckers? Any help would be awesome!!
Thanks!!

You can still buy new Jagmasters. They did make them in the late 90's. They were from the Vista Series and I think they were made in Japan.
They started making them again around 2002. I have a 2008 model that was Crafted in China. Some players prefer the Vista Series over the new ones but I really like the one I have, but I have never played the Vista.
The new ones have Duncan designed humbuckers which I think sound pretty good. They are nice on a drive setting and have a good clean sound in the middle position. The new ones have a 24" scale fingerboard with 21 frets. I think the 2002 models had more color choices but now they have sunburst and black. I have the sunburst. I think its a great guitar for the money.

Yodacaster is correct, and they are some great guitars. Especially the current models available now.

I think the Vista Series Jagmasters can be considered "rare"...The currently produced Jagmasters are only "rare" in the sense that most non-online stores do not carry more than just a Squier Strat and/or Squier Tele usually...

How do you tell if it's a vista series, or the production year? The headstock just says "squier jagmaster" in large print on a large strat style headstock. It also says "standard" in small script on the end of the headstock. It has a strat trem and the color is silver metal flake, black pickgaurd.

It's not a currently produced one, and I could tell you what it is, but I think you should check out this link and read up on it...

If it is a Vista it will say Vista Series on the headstock. I think yours is the 2002-2005 model.

vista series have vintage "shorter-scale" necks, like a musicmaster, ie. no skunk stripe, or top truss rod adjustment. also 22 frets. also vintage tuners.

they also say vista series where yours says standard.

like this (mine):
