Can I put a '62 reissue tremolo in a Affanity strat, or will it not work?

I've got a feeling it won't work, but I'm not sure on that. I have an affinity Strat that I'm looking to change the tremolo on, so I'm definately going to keep tabs on this thread...

I doubt it would be an exact replacement, but these guys ought to help.

One issue with the Affinity Series Squiers is that the bodies are not as thick as the standard Strat and Tele bodies are, so most likely you will have some clearance issues with many aftermarket trems....

It won't work, string spacing is different and the body is not thick enough for a full size trem block. Even the import or mim trems from guitar fetish are too tall for the body.

Not all Affinity Strats are thinner. I have two - a '97 and a '98 and they both have full-thickness bodies (1.75 in.) and heavy, as well as a smaller headstock, unlike the canoe paddles produced now.

Not if you don't think it is. I just prefer the more streamlined and subtle look of the 50's-style headstock, instead of one that looks like an exaggerated larger version.
