Hello, I have a Squier Affinity Strat MN BK ( Made in China, 08 ). I want to upgrade pickups with Fender Tex-Mex.

Who is the better decision for me: to upgrade pups with Tex-mex or save money for Squier Classic Vibe or Deluxe Strat.

Which guitar is better for me (Im beginner)? Squier Affinity with Tex-mex pups or Classic vibe strat?

PS: I play blues mostly :)

I have Tex Mex pups and love them. However, I'd say get the Classic Vibe. The Classic Vibe is much more of a "whole" guitar. Once you get really good, it would only be a matter of time till you dump the Affinity. However, the CV would likely be sticking around for much longer.

Learn with the Squier and save up for the Fender you see best in the future.

My first guitar was an Affinity Strat which I later upgraded with Texas Specials. However, you probably ought to go with the Classic Vibe. It should be a better quality guitar than an Affinity Strat. But try both, that way you can choose which one you like best.

I own the classic vibe 60's P-Bass and it really is incredible for the amount I spent on it. The finish is awesome and neck is unbelievable especially the feel on the edges. It has gotten me hungry to try out one of the CV Strats even moreso with the release of the new colors earlier this week.
