Oops, should have read the rest of the post. Nice looking guitar. Glad you didn't pay the $120.

Had some different thoughts on this strat...
I have a need for a harder rockin guitar than my current strats provide. So I took my 10%off coupon and my $80 gift card to GC and bought a Seymour Duncan JB Jr.

I re-strung it immediately and played a little. I couldn't crank it because it's 3am here.
Even with the volume low it sounds amazing!!
I don't think I could be happier.
Some might say it's like putting lipstick on a pig, but to hell with 'em. I'm into this strat for $180, and it's a pretty fantastic guitar. Gives my HWY1 a run for it's money. :D

By the by... there are alot of interesting things that I found out when I opened her up.
As you can see the body is routed for HSH. The pots are also 500K which makes sense for the routing. I would have been upset if they had put 250s in there because I would have had to change them. 250's would muddy up the humbucker.

Played it quite a bit this morning, the Duncan JB Jr is amazing. Alot of versatility tone wise. I've run it through my Behringer GM108 with all the analog modeling. Then through my Fender 75 (google it) clean and distorted. Normally I'm not a fan of Fender distortion but with the JB Jr it's pretty good. I also ran it through a Dunlop fuzz face Hendrix reissue (definitely some different sounds here!!), Digitech Bad Monkey, and Danelectro Fab Metal.

A really great setting clean or dirty is the 2nd position with the tone at about 7 or so. It really keeps the strat sound and adds a thicker tone.

I have pretty much the same model, W/ butterscotch trans finish. Got it for $50 @ a yard sale, slapped a SD hotrails in it, and some wiring mods, And though it's not exactly a metal machine, It's Pretty Effing Hot
