Forgive my ignorance of the Squire community...

I was in a pawn shop yesterday and saw an olympic white strat with matching painted headstock, black pickguard, tuners, and string trees, gold lettering for the Squire logo, staggered pickups as well. They are asking $120 for it but I could probably get them down to $100. What do you guys think?

I'm looking to mod my HW1 and the parts will need a new home, and that guitar looks like a great deal.

Much thanks in advance.

Big or regular headstock? $100 isn't bad, but I'd lowball the $@!& out of a pawn shop.

Ah, I saw an opposite one on craigslist going for about the same price. This was black with painted cbs headstock, and white pickgaurd and gold logo. Might have been a special edition at one point. $100 isn't bad. If it plays well and you have parts to put in it, go ahead.

Well I bought it...$100 including tax!

After some research I found that it is an 06 made in the Cort factory in Indonesia. I'm still trying to find out what series had the painted headstock. I'll post pics soon. Neat little guitar. I just spent the last hour peeling off the stickers that some tool bag had on her.

Sweet deal. The Cort made Squiers are some of the best I think.

Hello NapalmBBQ,

Great looking guitar,

Who's KSP you ask? I don't know, but he clearly has access to alot of fonts and a decal printer.

After a razor and some goo-b-gone... the after.

She had some serious intonation problem, but I believe I have that worked out. Originally I was going to put the Alnico V's that are in my HWY1 when I put customs into the HWY1, but I've seen some guys put in CS Fat 50's or 54's. So we'll see...

One thing that Squire does is mis-name their products. I have a 2004 Squire Deluxe Series Satin Trans Fat Strat MII. In Fender Frontline, it is under the heading Deluxe Series. But on the color matched headstock, it reads Standard series. Well, what is it Deluxe or Standard???
I Think Squire takes a Standard series neck and puts it on a Deluxe model. But what about the color match headstock??? Why would you put the wrong info on the guitar? And I see it over and over. Why would you label a guitar Standard Series that is really a Deluxe? Seems like poor advertising to me.

I wish there was some continuity so it would be easier to see what you have.
I'm sure Fender can't really throw stones due to their own similiar issues in the 80s.

Great looking guitar, and you got a screaming deal. The new Standard Strats are going for $230. 8)

+1 on that. Most Squires go for $85 to $100.
