I recently picked up a used Squire Stratocaster. It is all beat up....oh, I'm sorry....it has a heavy relic finish!!! As I took it apart to inspect, clean and set it up, I was quite surprised by some things I found. For one, it is a solid 3 piece body(maybe basswood or alder, not sure), not plywood. It has a soft v maple neck with a rosewood board, and it is pretty beefy. The truss rod adjusts from the neck end. It reminds me of a 50's style neck, with the smaller headstock. It came with a single ply 8 hole pickguard. It kinda reminds me of a vintage type Strat. I put on a Tusq nut and replaced the hammered pickguard with one I had in my parts drawer.Image

Anybody have any idea when this guitar was made? It has # NC421098

Nice work. Look around the forum or Wikipedia under Squier. The numbers will tell you the date and place of manufacture.

Just guessing here, maybe a 94' Bullet from the Fine Corp (N) Inchon, Korea plant. If not a 98', more inclined to believe it's a 94'. 1994 was the start up year for Fine....
