I imagine if you could run both amps together, then that would be a way to cover the whole range to it. Some sort of a bi amp system, I suppose.

Interesting idea, especially for recording. Thanks.

Squier II I refinished. I bought 3 guitars an extra neck and some parts for $40. This is one them. It was black. Stock except for the nut, back covers I made, and input jack. Weight 4.4 pounds.

Nice guitar. 8) Do you know what year that's from?

I have to guess because while the headstock originally had the Squier II by Fender the serial number was gone. Based on the shape of the pots and switch rear cover has the angled bottom of the 1989's I've seen as opposed to the rounded bottom on the 1988 models.

I was going to ask what year that body was.
I had one from the early/mid 90s (Korean) with a "bathtub route" that had a laminated body, but I have no idea at what point they transitioned to solid body blanks.

Slick lookin’ Squire thar’, mikesr1963. Kinda reminded me of when the guys used to make 64/65 mahogany Strats in high school shop. They weighed a whole lot more than your 4.4 lbs. Very cool. :D

Hey everybody,

I've always been a huge fan of the Mustang bass sound. So I got myself a used Squier Mustang bass first. Later, when I had a bit money left I finally got myself a new Mustang bass by Fender. They are sounding very differently. But to be honest, the Fender Mustang sounds so perfectly defined with it's P and J pick-ups. But the Squier Mustang has something dirty and vintage in it's Duncan designed pick-ups. I made a video about that. What do you guys think?

Thank's for every answer in advance. :)
Kenneth

Pretty cool video, and pretty cool that you're a Joy Division fan, too. 8) Yesterday was the 39th anniversary of "Unknown Pleasures," so I celebrated that by cranking it.

I've been really into playing short scale basses lately, ever since I got a hollow body violin bass (Hofner copy, basically,) and got used to that neck. I also sold my Squier P Bass and picked up an Ibanez Talman TMB-30 short scale bass, which is pretty nice. I would have liked to get a Mustang, but I didn't have the funds for it, since all I had is what I got for the Squier. Maybe someday that might be possible.
