Hi rileytheguitarist,
I bought it from J&R Music and Computer World, no modifications on my part. It's a cool guitar and I'm happy with it - lovin the humbucker.

Hey there, If I may, where did you find that pickguard? I have a 50th anniversary Squier Standard Strat, with vintage sunburst, and for the life of me I cannot find one. I've looked everywhere. Any help would be very much appreciated! Thanks!

Hi Dare1, and welcome to the forum! That is an Allparts pickguard that I picked up at Sam Ash.

You can get it online for $40, but I don't think I paid quite that much. This pickguard is slightly thicker than the original one, so I ended up having to shave it down with a Dremel tool just above the neck pickup hole. But, as you can see, it turned out just fine. Good luck! 8)

I have had this guitar for almost twenty years and have always been impressed with how it played and sounded. I've always had a bit of an inferiority complex because it wasn't a "real" Strat. I am glad to find this forum and know that this guitar is as good as I think it is.

I lost the trem bar, so the black one is an Ibanez and fits just fine. Can anyone help me identify the style of bridge and locking nut? This one stays in tune great and I like how the locking nut is back on the headstock away from the nut. I'd like to get another one for a project I just bought.

The only mod I've made is to remove one spring on the back. It makes the bridge float and still stay in tune.

Thanks and I appreciate any comments.

I have the exact same guitar, mine is a 1987. It has the System I Tremolo, made by kahler for Fender. Really great guitar.

I play mostly punk and metal and this little 3/4 guitar is a beast on any amp ... the invader with 500k pot = monster ... Palm muting is agressive .
