Hello!

I'm new to this forum and I hope that I will have fun here :-)

I am owner of Squier Standard Telecaster, made in Indonesia in 2007. I want to put a humbucker under the neck, but I am afraid to take off the neck and check, do I have a place for it. Is there anyone who has same guitar as me and know, what is under the pickguard?

I hope that you will help me!

There is no need to take off the neck. You can simply remove the pickgaurd to check. While it is a lot easier to do it with the strings off, the pickgaurd screws can be removed and the pickgaurd raised. Even with the strings on you should be able to tell if there is room.

The area you are asking about is called the pickup cavity. I am not familiar with your year, but I have 2 Standard Teles that came from the factory with humbuckers in the neck. They are great.

I wanted to remove only pickguard, but I have 22 frets, and the last fret is above pickguard. I cannot check pickup cavity without removing neck.

No, I do not think that is right. You likely need to remove strings, though. The pickguard should slide back and lift out. I did this to my 22-fret Tele just last night. It may be a little different, but these things are designed so you can get in there without touching the neck.

Ok, thank you so much. I'll try to do it when I'll be changing strings.

With some Telecasters, in order to remove or check under the pickguard, you do have to remove the neck. For example, a 22-fret Telecaster, oftentimes the 22nd fret overlaps the pickguard, so in order to remove the pickguard completely, you sometimes do need to remove the neck. I have 10 Teles, 6 are Squier, the rest are various brands, but depending on the brand and number of frets, you may or may not have to remove the pickguard. In order to check for a humbucker routing, you may not need to remove the neck to get the pickguard off, as you may be able to tell by gently bending the pickguard a bit...but to remove the pickguard, sometimes neck removal is necessary.
