I was thinking of changing the pickguard &/or
the plastic to something other than bright white.
It's great, but i might like to make it a little sexier.

I was thinking about getting some black into the mix or
maybe just some aged white knobs, tip & pickup covers.

That purple pearloid crossed my mind, too, but i
don't really know which way i wanna go w/ it yet.

Lovin' me some Purple Strat though... :D

Black would probably look cool. If I even get tired of the purple pickguard I'll probably swap it out for a black one. But aged knobs and pickup covers would also look awesome.

I got mine for $100 with a beat up crappy amp.

I would like to buy another one someday, because I really like the one I have. But now isn't the time.

I'm planning to upgrade mine this weekend with a drop in pre-wired pickguard assembly from GuitarFetish with Alnico V pickups. That will make mine look just about brand new since the only scratch it has on it is on one of the pickup covers. The new pickguard is also 3 ply white/black/white. This should be fun. I'll post pix when I'm done. Since I got mine for only $60, it's worth the $50 investment to upgrade the pickups and pickguard assembly.

Here's a few pix of my purple Affinity Strat after being modded. Installed a GFS Alnico V prewired pickguard, and a 1993 Korean Squier maple/maple neck. It was nice before...now it's great. The last pic is the inspiration for having the purple guitar...she's "The Purple Princess."

I just picked up a Purple Squier tonight!!!!

But after doing a some online research I am a little confused by this guitar!!!

The SN# is IC00056782

I found this article http://namm.harmony-central.com/SNAMM00 ... ndard.html
talking about the "new metallic purple"

The Strat I picked up has a "Standard" logo on the head stock w/ 22 frets, a 3 ply W/B/W 11 hole pickguard and is the metal flake like the standard with the purple pickguard in the above picture.

BUT....... mine has the 6 screw trem like the Affinitys....
and the article says this should have a 2 point trem???

other than that who ever had it before me must have had a nice set up done the action is nice and low and the frets have no sharp ends at all

I measured the body 1.75'' so it's a standard body.
The pup's are different than my '04 Standard can anyone ID those?

I have a 1999 American Standard Strat in eggplant purple. Bought it at a Guitar Center and I couldn't believe it. http://picasaweb.google.com/iamthemolem ... atocaster#

That's a really cool one too. :) I didn't know they made Fenders in a similar color, and around the same time as they made the Squiers.

And welcome to the forums, themoleman! :D

An Affinity purple strat for sale on ebay in the uk at the moment, being sold as seller refurbished. Being new to this site i don't know how to put a link in here yet or how the mods on here view links to active auctions but if you visit ebay.co.uk the item number is 200505255687.
Very, very garish - i've never seen a strat quite like that before.
