Answering an ad for a Squier Strat I ask the seller if it is an Affinity or Standard model. He replies it is the normal model.
I ask what it says on the headstock, (assuming he was using "normal" as an adjective and not a noun) and he replied "It says normal".
A quick google search finds no mention of this model. Any idea what this is? Is it a gutar from a learner pack or something (I thought those were Affinitys)?
Cheers.

He was probably pulling your leg. Who would put normal on a guitar.

Oh, maybe he meant "standard" but couldn't remember. Older people do that a lot, car/truck,boat/yaught, officer/admiral.

Try and see if he will send you a picture.

He got back to me saying it said "Standard" on the headstock, so I can only assume he couldn't remember the correct word.

The 'Standards' are definitely quality guitars. But keep in mind the 'Deluxe' are better. And - if you can - see if you can locate a good used 'Classic Vibe'. They are the best of all (along with the 'Vintage Modified' series).

I have a 2004 Squire Deluxe Series Satin Trans Fat Strat that says Standard on the headstock. It is in the Frontline catalog from 2006 in the "Deluxe Series" category, even tho it says Standard on the headstock. I beleive Squire used Standard necks on Deluxe Series guitars as a regular thing. It is definately not a Standard series guitar(too many non-standard features). So it may well be one or the other, who knows. Do some research.
