I just got a Starcaster for Christmas with all of the goodies that come with it. It's a beautiful cherry starburst and sounds awesome. I used to play back in the early 90's, but I've forgotten every beginner thing I knew at that time. My question is this: What guide can I pick up to learn on my own? DVDs? Books? Please help me out! THANKS!

The Hal Leonard Guitar Method book might be a good place to start.

I agree with the Hal Leonard material. You also might want to check out the info available at fenderplayersclub.com

Sorry but I'm not a Hal Leonard guitar method fan. Try Wolf Marshall Power Studies if they are still in print or visit his web site which is now part of the Line 6 Pod guitar port studies on the web.

If you have $100 Guitar Port is a worthwhile investment. You can play through your computer and save your amp for the great outdoors at full volume. I'm sure your neighbors will be happier when you are playing at night in your bedroom through your computer speakers.

Either way before you know it you will be up to speed then you can get on YouTube and pick up some songs.
