Just bought an Affinity Tele, in Butterscotch. I'm dying to mod it. Thinking Kluson tuners and Tonerider Vintage Pickups. Maybe the six saddle barrel saddles.

What have you done or want to do to yours?

Well, I did a mod that was not a mod that was super cheap and instantly got me miles more tone. I took of the wimpy .09 strings that came on it, and put DR "Pure Blues" in .11s. Wow. Huge improvement in tone and sustain. All for under $7.

I have a butterscotch blonde affinity strat that I put a black pearloid pickguard on, strap locks, Fender 5-way swiitch and 250k pots.. Next, I'm looking at maybe putting some lipstick tubes in it.

That strat is teh sechs! Very very nice pickguard! If you like the lipsticks, go with it, but those black covers look awesome. How about black hardware?

I want to keep the tele more historic looking, but pearloid pickguards are cool. I'd get one if I had a black telecaster.

I really like the chrome hardware. Don't know if it's because it's a 20th annniversary model or not, but he chrome bridge is really nice.

I think the pickguard looks nice as well, but don't be surprised to learn that it's a $9 special from Musican's Friend.

I also enjoy the tone from the stock affinity pickups. However, I did wrap them in copper foil, as I read SRV's tech did to his No. 1 strat. So I'm a little hesitant to replace them with something I have never tried. I can however, get the lipstick tubes in black from Guitarfetish.com, which is where I was going to buy them from.

If you're thinking about upgrading you p/u's check GuitarFetish out. I put a set of their overwound pickups in another Squier Standard strat I have and they're very very good.

Oh, I know about GFS! I think every Squier should come with a gift certificate to Guitarfetish!

A buddy got a blue Affinity Tele, and bought a black pickguard and a lipstick bridge PU. He has the pickguard on, but not the PU yet. Plain black looks cool.

I had been eyeing a black Aff Tele at a pawnshop. I was going to buy it and put a pearloid PG on it from GFS. However, gone when I went to get it. Good thing, though, cause I love the Butterscotch Blonde.

I need to get some Klusons on it quick.

Here's My Tele, I believe it's a 2005 model. I bought it last march for $170 and I love it :D It's gonna need new strings soon though. And this is the only Squier Tele I've seen with a humbucker.

BTW, does anybody know where I can buy a faceplate for it?

I might be going to Guitar Center here soon to get the pickguard, but I'm wondering if the tele pickguards will work with my humbucker on it.

i have a bone stock butterscotch blonde tele and i am wondering what would be a good upgrade? i have changed the strings ofcourse as i was playing in the sunday morning church services. i love my little tele, but there are a lot of real nifty(yeah, i said nifty!) mods and upgrades out there that i would like to try. i am the type that if it can be made for cheaper than off of the shelf, i will do that instead. anything like that out there? :P
