Post subject: Jagmaster with Annoying Hum

i have a squier jagmaster and it is making a crazy loud hum ... any ideas how to fix this or what is wrong with it ... thanks

Try to plug the amp into a different socket. If that doesn't change it try using a friends amp at their house. If the hum follows you then it's probably the guitar. You may be lucky and it might be other stuff in your house that is effecting the socket. I'm guessing that other guitars you own don't hum with that amp. Sorry I can't help.

Are you using a cheapo cable? Try a different cable and maybe try another outlet in the house.

Make sure the guitar is properly grounded. On my Jagmaster, there is a ground wire connected to the tremolo claw. Make sure this is still connected.
