Sorry to be dumb, but I'm not familiar with the Squirs. Which "category", or model does the 20th Anniversary Strat fall into?
Thanks

I have an Affinity Tele that I have gigged with and love. It feels great and has great tone. As usual general statements are just that - very general. Play a lot of guitars and choose the one that sounds good and plays good. Don't worry about the name. And yes, I have several guitars, including a Fender Custom Shop Strat. A good guitar is a good guitar, no matter who makes it.

What I like most about squiers, despite the tone is that you can throw them across your yard and they still work.

8) Like I said, all the pro players I know, like the Squires,--- cuz THEY ain't got Nuttin Ta PROOVE-- to their High School Buddies, by playin' a Yuppie Snob Ax. Most of the 'gear snobs' know everything 'bout guitars 'cept HOW to PLAY 'em  and make Money with 'em!! I've got 7 Squires, Modded Up,-- but they played Great-- right out 'o the box. When ya kin git a beat up [or not] Squire from the Pawn Shop, fer $50 bux, and set it up, to play well, What's Not To LIKE??? Playin' thru one of my {5} GNX4s, to my own Blues/Classic Rock Jam Loops, I defy ANYONE to say --"Itd don't sound like a REAL Fender, especially usin' the "Twin-Verb", or "Tweed" Patch- Models. 8) Wonder if any 'o Youse Guyz in "Digitech"-Land know of a "Super Reverb" patch-Model ?? BTW, I've got a '65 Epi Casino E-330. an' a '70 Gibby ES 335, a '58 ES 125, a '65 Fender Electric '12', a '71 Martin Sigma '12', a '24 Martin 0-18---- an' I LOVE my Squires, [In case ya think I'm a 'Wanna Bee'] :P lol

I've been playing for over 35 years and I use to think squiers were junk until I tried 1 at a music store closing. I have found that squires have made some great axes. I have around 50 guitars and several squires that are fav.s. I have a U S A squire , master series, pro tone. The master series espirit and m-80 are great the 24 series are also nice guitars. I have doubles of some like the espirit and x-155 ,m-80 because they are so good. I have all the vista series. I think korea made some of the best squiers. don't let the name scare you off. Just like U S A fenders some are better than other of the same modle so try them out first and you'll be surprised.

I play a Squier Strat with a humbucker made in Korea and the thing plays sweet. It has a great neck, but the tuners could be replaced.

Ok so just to set the record straight I also own a few Squier guitars and in my personal opinion (and don't be fooled EVERYONE has an opinion!....it's sort of like spines, eyes, ears, teeth, etc...it's part of the "package!") I think they're the best playing guitars I have ever owned, and I've been through quite a few guitars, from Washburn, to Kramers, Hamers, Hohners, Steinbergers.....etc. I happen to love the sound of a Strat, and I also love the feel and sound of a Tele, I have the Affinity Series Telecaster, with the Butterscotch Blond finish. Out of the box it was great, I just changed the pickups in it, (GFS's "Fatbody" P/U's!) and now it's a "Tele"!...The same thing applies to the Strats that I have, (one Affinity & one Standard Series) both these guitars are exactly what I had been looking for all these years!......now....I KNOW that NOTHING will compare to an "authentic", "vintage" 1958 Strat, or a true 1952 Tele, but since I don't have the cash like I used to, and since I don't particularly go in for all the radical shapes and designs of today, these guitars to me are worth more than gold! I've played Les Pauls, and PRS guitars and I think I'll stick to the Squiers, I find I can get my "sound" on these guitars more readily than on anything else, and why would I want to spend..like $2500.00 on something that doesn't get my sound? To me...it's ALL about the sound! Not the name on the instrument, or whether or not it's been sitting in someone's attic for the past 30 years!...sorry don't mean to offend all the "Vintage Purists" out there!...but that's just my take on it. I hope Squiers will remain an industry standard for many years to come! My ONLY regret is that I never got the chance to buy "the '51" that they made, I would have loved to own the blonde one, but alas it was not meant to be,.....Hey Squier?.....could you please "re-issue" the '51?...and maybe offer more colors and options this time?...and make it a PERMANENT fixture in your lineup of great instruments?....please???

Just got an Affinity Tele a few weeks ago. Admittedly, the setup was quite poor, but after an hour of tinkering, it's really turned out to be quite sweet. It's got that "twang", a nice mellow neck p/up, and a really nice shallow neck. I do love my Fenders, but am in no way disappointed with this guitar. BTW, I hope I win something from "kickoff 09" - does it matteer that I'm in Ireland? Really too lazy to read the T&C's...

I bought my son a Squire Bullet one time. It was okay for a kid that didn't know better.

To be fair the afinitys are now using alder bodies, but I do completely agree the others (that aren't made of playwood) are a good (and cheap) start for a project guitar though if you play your cards right.

A new Classic Vibe may be one of the classics in the future for Squier.

I can only re-iterate my previous statements,
1 - Squier Guitars are decentlt crafted guitars that can get you the sound you're looking for if you know what that sound is!
2- If you see one that they make and you have a sneaky suspicion that they might stop making them...GET 'EM WHILE THEY'RE HOT!
