Saw a 95 Korean Strat in a pawn shop near me (serial # CN5) - bit road worn but had character. It's listed for £50, but may be able to get a little off.
I was wondering what the body on these were - I don't really fancy a plywood guitar, no matter how cheap.

That is the million dollar question. Best way to find out is to peel the paint off. I don't think that or cutting it in half is worth the trouble.

If you are lucky it might be bass wood.

I don't know what mine is but compared to Ash it sounds dead. Only thing is that it stays in tune and I use it as my main practice guitar.

So, it depends what you want it for.

Good luck and hope you buy it.

It's probably Basswood...Take the cover off the back, you should be able to see some wood, easy to tell if it isn't plywood :D

Yea, basswood or poplar most likely. Cover off will show the white wood underneath, guitar would be pretty light too.
