I know a lot of people mod their Squiers and, more so, have cut their teeth on them. Like other 'first times', its sticks with you. I love my squier even though, at times, it was almost as wrecked as Van Halens frankenstrat!

That said, even though I bought it new, I know nothing about it.

Is there anyway to date a Squier? Or get more info about it's make and where it came from. How many were made etc?

We all know they aren't like vintage american's, but they are .....still cool.

I know that www.guitardaterproject.com does something like that, it will tell you when and where the instrument was made. I don't know if they cover Squiers though.

Lots of pop-ups and not much info from that link.

But, thanks for trying.

i'm not 100% sure on squier's but on fender's you can find a production date on the butt end of the heel of the neck.

if there isn't one there i'm not really sure what other options there are as you can't date a squier based on the serial number.

I think the First 2 numbers of the S/N indicate when it was made. For example my Affinity Strat has SY01 - Meaning made in 2001, and my '51 says '05. I'm fairly sure that's right

Yea that would make since because my Squire Stagemaster was made in 99' and its first two numbers are 99...
