The pickup stopped working. What do you think is the problem?

have you checked the wiring? perhaps a connection came loose.
or maybe one of the copper wires that coil around the pickup is unattached from the pickup lead.

Could be the switch or the jack. A word of advice if you replace the jack you might have to cut the top part off to make it fit and work well. Just measure your old one against the new one and cut carefully.

Good luch and don't give up on your guitar. Maybe it is time to get a new cool pickup for it.

Which pick up?

Do the other pick ups work when switched on?

Yeah, you should be getting sound no matter what position your switch is in assuming your volume knob is turned up. Turn everything up to 10.

If there is still no sound then it is your jack. You should get a buzzing sound when you shake the cable. Mine wore out and I replaced it with a $3 jack from Guitar Center. It was too long and smashed against the wood inside so I cut the long head off. Just match it against your old one.

Hope it is not your amp. Could also be your cable. You can always have it tested at your local guitar shop.

Don't let them con you into expensive repairs. You can always buy new parts and rewire yourself. Just look around for some scratch and dent parts. I got my Seymour Duncan Duc Buckers for $20.00. Never pay full price! Even there generic pickups sound better I got some Hot Rails that sound pretty good.

Check out www.stewmac.com. They have a lot of parts you might be able to use. There is also Allparts or something on the web that has a lot of cheap parts.

Think this thing through and don't spend a lot of money on your Squire. You can always save your money and trade up for a Standard or something you like.

Keep writing me or anyone with what you find and maybe we can figure this thing out.

Get a multimeter from wal-mart and test for continuity with the ohm meter is easy to do and doesn't take a lot of time

I would recommend checking the wiring. Or taking it to a shop. Whatever you want.

WEll when i bought my se-100 squier pack i had it for about a month and the amp would make no sound. At first i thought it was the guitar but if the cord was put in the exact right position it would work. I went and bought a new cable and it works like a charm.
