I never understood what the hate towards Hello Kitty was about or generated from. I'd much rather have Hello Kitty on my guitar than some Pirates of the Carribean crap like some other guitar company did

Ha....it's your money, man.

Personally? I would have probably just sanded it and painted it instead.

(Now of course...destroying a cheap guitar....isn't that impressive. I think if you're going this route...)

You should blow 3 grand on a signature or a Gibson and do the same thing...with pictures or a youtube video...now THAT would be seriously outrageous!!!

Yeah....sure.....

(remembers Pete Townshend in his formative years with not only Fenders, but Rickenbackers....)

You know what? I'm gonna' lay it out there... I think this guitar is awesome looking!

Image

I have to admit that every time I walk into the local music store I eye it for a few minutes because I like the design and the colors - and I don't really know anything about Hello Kitty as it were. I am especially smitten with the pink dots on the fretboard of the above variation.

Squier/Fender is obviously reaching for a certain demographic. If this guitar beheld Bugs Bunny or Scooby Doo's face (generally more aimed towards boys) one would probably deem it alright - but it catches heat from overly-macho dudes because it's Hello Kitty... I will agree that if you have one of these and you don't want it, give it to a young person who wants to learn to play the guitar. Don't destroy a perfectly playable instument - especially one with the Stratocaster silhouette!

IMHO. :)

Call me crazy but....

Dude....I really like that neck. Especially with the red fret markers.

I'm wondering what this guitar would look like painted solid white with that white hardware. Or, white with a red pickguard and red hardware...

Hmmm......

I was hoping someone would burn and destroy this topic.

Come on guys, it's been over a year! (0807) We are about to celebrate the aniversary of this topic as well as the forum.

Lets move on.

It is a nice looking neck. The wood on the guitar couldn't be worth anything so if you are going to upgrade it I would get a new body for it and use the neck and some of the hardware.

But seriously can we delete this topic, please.

Why burn a musical instrument?
I had a terrible guitar don't want to name the brand, but I still used it in big performances and kept it and loved it.

If Hank Marvin, Eric Clapton or even Jimmy Hendrix played on your kitty you would have been amazed ?

You've burnt a guitar that's a work of people who is trying to do their best for those who can't afford expensive.

I am deadly sure that you don't know how to use any type of guitar even if I gave you the most expensive.

Just be ashamed of what you did. I pity you, and I am sorry to say that.

Yousif

You know what would look really hot???

That guitar in a cherry sunburst.....with that neck.

If anyone feels the urge to smash any more of these guitars, hit me up...I'll buy it off of you....

Better yet, give it to a kid that wants to play guitar, but his or her family can't afford to buy them one. I guarantee you will get more satisfaction.

Oh, I know! But...if you're not Hendrix or Townshend or some other legend and if it isn't in front of an audience, I call it idiotic. Otherwise it can be very entertaining. Yes yes. Point taken.

Sorry for the cheezy image but it is my first try at modifying with iphoto, and also my first try at sending images. I thought that it could be interesting to see Kitty from another angle. It definitely has a niche.

Cheers.

Anybody that wants to buy a new Hello Kitty guitar to destroy should send it to me. I will give it to my 9 year old daughter, and she will love it. That is who it is made for anyway. It is meant to introduce young ones to the guitar. I am all for that. Leave the guitar burnin to Hendrix and Zippo.

Go to Warmoth and get a Violet Pearl pickguard blank then loose the kitty face and put you own design on. Just thinking would not cost much to do and could be pretty cool looking.
