John Hiatt comes to mind....

Quote:
He threw one down from the top of the stairs
Beautiful women were standing everywhere
They all [self censoring] when he smashed that thing
But off in the dark you could hear somebody sing
Oh it breaks my heart to see those stars
Smashing a perfectly good guitar
I don't know who they think they are
Smashing a perfectly good guitar
It started back in 1963
His momma wouldn't buy him that new red harmony
He settled for a sunburst with a crack
But he's still trying to break his momma's back
Oh it breaks my heart to see those stars
Smashing a perfectly good guitar
I don't know who they think they are
Smashing a perfectly good guitar
He loved that guitar just like a girlfriend
But every good thing comes to an end
Now he just sits in his room all day
Whistling every note he ever played
There oughta be a law with no bail
Smash a guitar and you go to jail
With no chance for early parole
You don't get out untill you get some soul
Oh it breaks my heart to see those stars
Smashing a perfectly good guitar
I don't know who they think they are
Smashing a perfectly good guitar
Late at night the end of the road
He wished he still had the old guitar to hold
He'd rock it like a baby in his arms
Never let it come to any harm
Oh it breaks my heart to see those stars
Smashing a perfectly good guitar
I don't know who they think they are
Smashing a perfectly good
Good
Guitar

Yea Im going to have to agree with most other people on this forum... You shouldnt have wasted the money on it if all you wanted to do was burn it... You could have easily covered up the hello kitty face and made it look half way decent anyway... :?

i LOVE the hello kitty and if it had a neck pickup i would buy it. ive heard of people damaging guitars routing pickup holes. i dont get that - a neck pickup is very important - listen to yngwie.

then again - alot of what i like about yngwie is he plays guitar so much like a classical violinist. the bridge pickup sounds alot more like a violin than the neck and it would help to not be so much of an yngwie clone without meaning too....... i might want to buy a pink hello kitty.

i bought a squire hello kitty strat last week in pink... me and my band members smashed and burned this abomination until it was no more :) i am pleased with myself

It is sad you did the burning, I have a little girl who would love to play on a hello kitty guitar. She, and anybody, has the right to like the HK guitar, same way I have the right to like an Eric Clapton commemorative guitar. Dont you think?

Maybe my daugther should burn the Clapton's crossroads guitar just because she does not like EC. .......Thats what we may get ito if we let intolerance rule.

Peace :P

i hate seeing guitars smashed. but what's more is the money you spent on it -- just to burn it.

i'm a student -- my parents are in another country and they insist that i should buy my own stuff with my own money. every capo, restring, cable, guitar accessory i buy -- it comes out from my own pocket.

i want a Stratocaster SO BAD -- but if i trade in my Epiphone for one, it's price will be cut into half. i don't even have a decent amplifier yet and i'm getting the money to buy one by saving.

the fact that they made that thing they called a guitar shows the under appreciation for the custom detail of a fender guitar

Hello Kitty guitars better be around when my little girls are old enough to start playing.

I think Guitar Hero has done more harm to guitar playing and players more than Hello Kitty ever could, would, or has....

Totally. I have a guy at work who would air guitar the songs that he learned "how to play" and try to explain how difficult it is to press 4 or 5 buttons. I offered to lend him my extra guitar and looked at me like I was on crazy pills.

As far as Hello Kitty, if you can get anyone to play the guitar it's a good thing. Who knows, they may turn out to be the next Hendrix. I'd never buy one for myself, but if I woke up one day with no money or guitar and someone gave me a Hello Kitty... I'd play the hell out of it every day!
