Hey all I recently replaced the wiring harness and pots on my Squier affinity telecaster made in Indonesia and it added a number of benefits to the guitar. I didn’t think replacing the pots and switch would benefit the guitar as much as it has. I replaced the 3 way switch with a 4 way (got a super good deal on reverb) switch not really knowing much about the additional out of phase position. The only problem I ran into was when trying to ground the pickups. There was no way to access the ground on the cheap pups. Still the improvement is astonishing in regards to tone and overall clarity in sound. Is this typical when replacing the complete electronics in a budget guitar? Or is my ears playing a trick on me? Anyone have the same success? Also looking for new pups to install on this amazing bang for the buck tele. Anyone have any suggestions for high quality tele sound pups? Was looking at the bridge replacement that came with 62/64 bridge pickup. What would u replace next if u were me? I have swapped out tuners already with some extra MIM tuners I had left after installing locking tuners on my MIM Strat. Also replaced the string tree with MIA and pickguard.
