Hi, I recently bought a 1995 squire strat, which I've found to be solid wood. I was wondering if anyone knows what type of wood these were made from? I've heard it was basswood, is this correct?
thanks

Well, I do have a PDF copy of a 1996 Squier catalog, which is only a year younger, so I'm assuming the guitars haven't changed too much, if at all, and I've seen one Strat saying it has an alder body, and another just saying solid hardwood. I didn't really study through it, but here's the link to get the catalog: http://www.squierwiki.com/Catalogs There could be information on that site, as well, since it's a Wiki. I haven't looked, though.
