Here is my CV60's. I changed out the tortoise guard for the mint green. Also I wired the bridge pup to the 2nd tone pot. One of these days I also want to get a full sized trem block.

The original strings are on it for now. I use D'Addario XL 110 10-46. I need to restring it but I got to get some. It came with 9's on it. They sound good but they feel too slinky for me. I used to use 9's but graduated to 10's and I like them better.

I've been playing my Squier Stratocaster for 25 years and love it. I've done some upgrades to it over the years and it only keeps getting better. I put jumbo frets and a bone nut on the neck, and dropped in a DiMarzio P.A.F. Pro humbucker in the bridge with a coil splitter switch. The middle and neck pick-up's are original. I also dropped in a Torres Engineering "Tone Selector" electronics kit for some truly amazing tones. The "road wear" on it is authentic from 25 years of playing gigs and jamming with this guitar. I absolutely love this guitar, and will never sell it or trade it. So here it is...... a 1985 MIJ Squier Stratocaster. The bass is a 1995 made in China Squier P-Bass with Seymour Duncan active pick-up's. This a really nice bass, as well.

Do you have problems with the ball ends? have you compared with Fender bullet ends esp. after whammy use. Don't the ball ends go out of tune a little too far?

Yes, I've tried Fender bullets but they seemed to die on me pretty quick. So, after I switched to XLs I haven't looked back. They stay in tune just fine with trem use. However I am no Van Halen when I do use the trem :)

I like to mod guitars, I have fun w/ it. I did spend $150 on the 7 string pups, and another 230 on the Squier VII.

I feel like this would be a worthy first post.

Pretty recently just started learning how to play, and I had started playing on some knock off brand Strat that I had been given as a gift. I figured I'd go pick out my own to learn on. I decided on a black Squier strat, mainly because my "dream" guitar would be a John Mayer Black1, but there is no possible way I could afford one at this time lol.

So I decided to just "upgrade" a Squier to look like it. I realize value wise, this is a retarded idea, but I never plan on getting rid of it.

After I bought it.

New strings, gold Fender bridge, gold jack plate. I also have some gold tuners on the way (were pulled off a late 80s or early 90s Fender), along with some other little gold hardware pieces.

I'll probably put a mint green pickguard on it when, or if I decide to upgrade the pickups.
