I will post a pic shortly. I bought this baby brand new back in 1986. Bullit 1. black w white guard, full gloss maple neck. It's totally mint condition, and I put a lace in the bridge position. What a fine player. It's HEAVY- heavier than an american strat. tremolo, SSS. Question is- I haven't a clue where it was born. Serial number is E611001. I'm told poss japan, poss us. not sure. doesnt say anywhere short of taking off the neck. All i know is that ive had strats, 1 american, a tele, ibanez, and have to say- this will ALWAYS be my #1. Maybe it's sentimental, but it plays well, sounds great, and smells like a vintage lumberyard-....gotta love it. And since I never gigged with it, it's like brand new. Only thing is the high E and B are buzzing a little when played open, so a tune up is in order. No snobbery here- I have american guitars....I just can't NOT play this one when I record. I also have the orig receipt and all the tags with the orig HSC.....solid wood too- what kind? you got me, but it weighs a ton. More than my amer strat.....what a beauty

Now if they would start making hats, shirts, and things of that nature for the Squier brand we would be good.

Greetings fellow enthusiasts!

I am making my first post on the Fender forums because I just got my first guitar today, a Squier Standard Telecaster. I haven't had much time playing with it yet, but so far I like it a lot. Plus, I think it looks really good.

I have been learning to play on a borrowed guitar since February, but the time came to get my own. I will double check the setup and play it some more tomorrow. I am looking forward to playing this one for years to come.
