...which one. I'm a novice, currently using a Korean copy that's falling apart and now I'm really into playing, I need a better build and sound, but still as a novice I only want to spend around £200/$400.

I've come across these two:

Squier Strat Deluxe Hot Rails Olympic White (£150)
http://www.squierguitars.com/products/s ... 0300510505

Deluxe Stratocaster (£200)
http://www.squierguitars.com/products/s ... 0300500523

Googling, I only seem to come across people who are loyal with out giving reason or hate with out giving reason.

Are these good for bluesy tones and classic rock?

Is it worth dropping the extra £50 for the Deluxe?

Any help is grately appreciated.

200pounds--400pounds, I don;t know how many dollars that is but sounds like you can afford a good MIM Fender guitar instead of a squier. Not to say anything bad about squiers.

I bought the Deluxe Strat Peral White model for my son. We both love playing it. I think you would enjoy one. The price to quality ratio is exceptional. I think I paid 240 Euros for it new.

Hello Maloma,

I don't own a Squire
but I play them with
some regularity.

It's a well made,nicely finished
instrument. I would put out
the extra 50 for the Deluxe
as I'm not a hot rails fan.

Mexico's are nicer but they cost more,
USA are nicer but they cost even more.
You get the idea
Best of luck with your choice.

Cheers.
