I am very familiar with Start trem arms but this is my first Jazzmaster. I got the guitar today and the sales dude put in the trem arm. How to remove the thing? I cannot find any videos online. TIA

You need to push in and pull out hard in the beginning, mine did the same thing. Just give it a good straigh pull out and it should pop out easily.

was just wondering because it is so hard to remove the trem arm.I lock down the trem and then I have to hold the guitar body down with one hand and pull with the other. It come out but takes alot of effort. The guys at my guitar store had as much trouble as me but they said thats how to do it.Is hard to pull out because it is new or am I doing something wrong? It works fine when I put it back in,just a hassle to get it out.
t's mostly because it's new. The press in trem arm fits into a collet (sp) which has teeth around the edge that grip the trem arm when you push it in. It should get better with time, you don't really want to mess with it as in going in there and trying to pry the teeth out a little trying to loosen it up or something - they will break.

This image shows an exploded view of the guitar. Part 56 is what the arm goes into. Maybe a little graphite might help. Just be careful...I had the same problem with mine when it was new
